Presentation Abstract
Trade-off between energy-usage and event-detection-reliability in wireless sensor networks is application dependent. Without reliability, the extended life time of the network is of very limited use. Due to inherent correlation between reliability and congestion, it is vital to manage reliability assurance and congestion control simultaneously. We shall deploy a congestion aware routing to avoid congestion formation and thereby, to improve reliability. Also we shall mitigate congestion through efficient buffer management. Preliminary work on congestion aware routing shows improved success rate with reduced congestion.
