Common Password Problems (password reset not required)

For details about common password problems please see the FAQ's.

When to Request a Password Reset

You should check the following things before requesting a password reset.

  • Can you log into the my.monash portal? If you can then you do not need a password reset.
  • If your browser doesn't prompt you for a username and password when accessing any restricted Monash webpages but produces a "Authentication Error" and your Authcate password has been changed recently then it also may not require a reset. Your browser may be set to remember the old password. Read the FAQ's for a solution.

If the answer is no then follow the instructions below.

Password Reset Information

Off Campus Learning (OCL) students: If you are are having problems with your Authcate password you can request a password reset by emailing your Authcate username, full name, ID Number and Date of Birth to cso-gscit@infotech.monash.edu.au

Internal students should go to their local IT Services help desk on their relevant campus and have their password reset.

Following the reset, you will have seven days to change your password or your account will be locked again. To do this login to the Portal (my.monash.edu.au) and select the 'Change Password' link in the top link bar, or follow the change password link at the ITS managed account information page
