Selection of Honours Projects (GCO4500 and GCO4600)

Staff members in the school actively undertake research in a number of computing and information technology areas including human-computer interaction; data communications; multimedia systems; multiple valued logic; artificial intelligence; operations management, image processing and retrieval; operations research and optimisation techniques. Honours projects in these areas are currently available. Full-time on-campus students are normally expected to take GCO4500 and should either choose one from these projects or propose one in consultation with the Honours coordinator and a project supervisor.

Part-time off-campus students normally undertake GCO4600. Each student, in consultation with an academic staff member as supervisor and the Honours coordinator, selects an applied research project. The project will be normally to solve a practical problem that may be related to the student's work. A co-supervisor from the student's work place or a near-by institute will be arranged.
